CAIO Le Pin au Haras: Dressage Wins for Pallen and Dutilloy
SportThe opening day of the CAIO Le Pin au Haras featured the dressage phase for the youth classes, the CAI3 Single Pony*, and the CAI3 Horse Pairs*.
In the Single Pony class, Belgian driver Sebastien Pallen produced an excellent test to finish on 49.91 penalty points, becoming the only competitor in the class to score below 50 penalties. Three of the five judges ranked his performance as the best of the day.
Great Britain’s Catherine Brockie finished almost five penalty points behind on 54.64, making her the clear best of the remaining competitors.
It was an excellent day for the Pallen family, as Lise Pallen also claimed victory in the Junior Single Pony dressage with 48.56 penalty points—the highest-scoring dressage test across all youth categories.

Highly Scored Free Walk
French drivers dominated the Horse Pairs class, with François Dutilloy taking the lead on 44.44 penalty points, followed by Michael Sellier on 46.66. Both drivers produced impressive tests, finishing comfortably below the 50-penalty mark.
Dutch drivers Sam Couwenberg and Leo van der Burgt both secured solid positions in the middle of the leaderboard. Couwenberg scored 55.27 penalty points, placing fifth, while Van der Burgt followed closely in seventh on 55.70.
Britain’s Nicola Pimbblet slotted in between the two Dutch drivers with 55.57 penalty points. Her free walk was particularly impressive, earning a string of 8s and 9s from the judges and receiving some of the highest marks of the class.

Friday’s Programme
Competition resumes on Friday at 08:30 with the CAI2 Under 25 Single Pony* class. At 09:11, attention shifts to the prestigious CAI4 Single Horse* competition, featuring 37 competitors. In addition to competing for the individual title, the drivers will also be contesting the Nations Cup.
