Official FEI pony measuring session in Ermelo on 6 October
Ponies competing internationally are subject to the FEI’s pony measuring regulations. Ponies that have not yet been officially measured according to FEI regulations, or whose temporary FEI Measuring Certificate is due to expire, can be presented at an official FEI pony measuring session in Ermelo, the Netherlands, on 6 October.
The measuring session will take place at the National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo. Riders and drivers planning to compete internationally next season can use this opportunity to have their pony officially measured. Ponies that are not yet competing internationally may also be entered for the session.

FEI measuring rules
The FEI regulations include several exceptions regarding the frequency with which ponies need to be measured. Since 1 January 2022, ponies aged between six and eight years that measure no more than 140 cm without shoes or 141 cm with shoes at an FEI measuring session receive an FEI Lifetime Measuring Certificate. These ponies therefore only need to be measured once.
For larger ponies between six and eight years old, annual FEI measuring remains compulsory.
Exception for driving ponies
Since 1 January 2023, an exception also applies to ponies competing in international driving competitions, making it easier for them to compete at CAI1*, CAI2* and CAI3* level.
