The 65-year-old driver is clearly looking forward to the competition. “Aachen is always special and unique. I’ve competed here 24 times; the venue holds no surprises for me. It feels familiar; you know that everything here is incredibly well organized—for the horses, the people, and the spectators... Everything is just perfect. We always get the same spot for the horses and our ‘camp.’ The team knows the place, and most of the horses have competed here before, too. Yet the atmosphere is special—just a little more so than at the ‘regular’ CHIO.”
