Equine fatality at European Championship Youth in Osorhei
Today we received the sad news that the 25-year-old gelding Conversano V125 passed away in the training arena at the European Championship Youth Driving in Osorhei, Romania, on Tuesday, 11 August. This was announced by a FEI spokesperson.
Conversano V125 was entered for the championship with Romanian driver Manuela Mihaela Buta. The gelding was owned by Hungarian driver József Dobrovitz.
In line with the FEI Veterinary Regulations, samples have been taken from the horse, and a full postmortem in line with FEI protocols will be conducted.
The FEI, the Organizing Committee of the European Youth Driving Championship, the Romanian Equestrian Federation expressed their condolences in a joint statement.
