European gold for Sophia Routledge: “Dream makes my dream come true!”

For Sophia, winning gold was, of course, the absolute highlight of the championship. Yet she had not travelled to Romania with a medal as her goal. “I didn’t have any expectations apart from making sure Dream and I performed to our best. It hasn’t been a smooth few years, with many ups and downs, but it all came together at the European Championship.”

Strong team

There was also a positive feeling within the British team. Sophia knew Great Britain had travelled to Osorhei with a strong squad. “This year, we had quite a strong team and knew we would be some competition. With many good members on the team, everyone helped to make sure all the scores could count if they needed to.”
