European Championship Youth: Best Score So Far for Isabelle Brunner
Two classes took centre stage today at the FEI European Championship for Young Drivers. The Junior Single Pony and U25 Single Horse competitors completed their dressage tests, with Isabelle Brunner (GBR) and Martyna Beblot (POL) proving unbeatable in their respective classes.
The Junior Single Pony class got underway at 9:00 a.m. local time. Isabelle Brunner (GBR) produced the best dressage score of the European Championship so far, finishing on 46.32 penalty points, equivalent to more than 71%. A highlight of her test was the halt at X, for which she received a 9 from two of the judges.
Second place went to Lisa Beekhuiszen (NED) with Rans Coca Cola, who scored 49.60 penalty points. Sweden’s Ella Thorén completed the podium, finishing third on 51.04 penalty points.
Exciting Until the Very End
The U25 Single Horse class remained exciting right until the final competitor. A total of 21 drivers took part, with Malte Reinhardt (GER) entering the arena as the tenth starter. Reinhardt recorded what was, at that point, the best score of the class: 51.40 penalty points.
That score remained at the top of the leaderboard for a long time - a very long time, in fact. But then the final two competitors entered the dressage arena.
Blanka Ágnes Jámbor (HUN) and her horse Ludwig scored 49.42 penalty points to move into the lead. However, the final starter, Martyna Beblot (POL), went one better. With 48.43 penalty points, she moved to the top of the standings and secured the win.
