Danielle van der Wiel Makes Coaching Club History
Following a revival of interest in coaching in the late 19th century, the Coaching Club was founded in 1870, with the eighth Duke of Beaufort as its first president. Since then, the Club has organised annual meets, with the exception of the World Wars and the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. To mark its 150th anniversary in 2021, the Club received a personal message of congratulations from none other than Her Majesty The Queen—an indication of the standing and prestige of the Coaching Club.
Today’s members see themselves as custodians of the etiquette and traditions associated with coaching, as established and observed since the Club was founded. Members may nominate prospective candidates, who are then consid..
