Updated Obstacles for German Pairs Championships in Emlichheim
SportNext week, from 14 to 17 May, the German Championships for pairs (horses) and pairs (ponies) will take place in Emlichheim. For this year’s edition, several adjustments have been made to the venue and the obstacles, with the aim of making the marathon phase more challenging.
The organisers have redesigned and expanded multiple obstacles. The intention is to increase the level of difficulty for both drivers and their turnouts during the marathon. As was the case during the German Pony Championships in 2023, Robert Kühn is responsible for the course design.
Notably, Dutch competitors will be taking part for the first time this year. The organisers expect that international participation will continue to grow in the coming years.
Looking Back at 2025
Last year, the German Championships for pairs (horses) took place in Munich. Carola Slater claimed the title, followed by Sebastian Warneck in second place and Ulrike Schmidt in third.
The German Championships for pairs (ponies) were held last year in Lauchheim-Hülen. Tim Schäferhoff took the win, followed by Carl Holzum and Birgit Kohlweiss.
