Marathon timing calculator: “Where AI and carriage driving come together”
Gerben Olthof attends many competitions in the Netherlands and abroad as a photographer. What many people may not know is that he previously groomed for Rob Klomps and his horse pair. He stood on the back of the carriage during the marathon and was responsible for calculating the times.
When that came to an end, Gerben’s career developed from mechanical and automotive engineering into marketing and data analysis. When his daughters and girlfriend started driving marathons, he was once again, as he puts it, “the one who got stuck with” calculating the times.
