Mareike Meier replaces Chester Weber for upcoming World Cup season
Mareike Meier will compete in the FEI Driving World Cup this winter. The German driver moves into the 2026-2027 World Cup season after American driver Chester Weber announced that he will not take part. Weber finished third in the World Cup qualification ranking.
Meier confirmed to Hoefnet that she will accept her place: “Yes I am driving!”
Based on the ranking, Weber was among the top ten drivers who had qualified for the new indoor season, but he has since informed the FEI that he will not compete this winter. Under Article 2.10 of the World Cup rules, a driver who withdraws is replaced by the next driver in the ranking. As a result, the place goes to Mareike Meier, who finished eleventh.

Allocation of World Cup events on 30 September
Which drivers will compete at which World Cup events will become clear on 30 September. A meeting will then take place to allocate the qualified drivers to the various events of the 2026-2027 FEI Driving World Cup season.
